{"id":2104,"date":"2015-08-23T17:55:40","date_gmt":"2015-08-23T22:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dougbratton.info\/blog\/?p=2104"},"modified":"2015-08-23T17:55:40","modified_gmt":"2015-08-23T22:55:40","slug":"prepping-for-priming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dougbratton.info\/blog\/2015\/08\/prepping-for-priming\/","title":{"rendered":"Prepping for priming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been using the <a href=\"http:\/\/3mcollision.com\/products\/paint-application\/paint-preparation-system\" target=\"_blank\">3M PPS<\/a>\u00a0because of its ability to paint in all directions (gun upside down), but had to order the larger cup size. \u00a0I ordered the largest kit to ensure I would have enough paint to spray the outside and inside of the shell at once.<\/p>\n<p>I have also been researching about painting in my garage and found a few threads&#8230; \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ffcars.com\/forums\/53-2005-roadster-archives-read-only\/143630-venting-paint-fumes-question-painting-without-booth.html\" target=\"_blank\">Venting Paint Fumes<\/a>, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/autobodystore.com\/forum\/archive\/index.php\/t-10321.html\" target=\"_blank\">Compressor in same vicinity<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&amp;ion=1&amp;espv=2&amp;ie=UTF-8#q=spray%20epoxy%20primer%20in%20garage\" target=\"_blank\">spraying epoxy in garage<\/a>. \u00a0I have ordered a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harborfreight.com\/8-inch-portable-ventilator-97762.html\" target=\"_blank\">ventilator <\/a>to blow the fumes out the window, and will open up the door to the upper storage level of the garage which should pull in enough air.<\/p>\n<p>I think I am about ready to spray the primer within the next few weeks. \u00a0Hope to get some garage time in next weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been using the 3M PPS\u00a0because of its ability to paint in all directions (gun upside down), but had to order the larger cup size. \u00a0I ordered the largest kit to ensure I would have enough paint to spray the outside and inside of the shell at once.
