New Spot Welder!

Harbor Freight had a sale.  $40 off of their spot welder.  With the money I saved, I went ahead and purchased the 2-year replacement plan.  Need to get a receptacle to fit into my 220 outlet I use for my welder!

Updates 11/19/2011

Completed the patching last weekend.  Needed to add a new strip under the garage door to help seal things.  I am waiting until Sunday to park the truck in the garage to let it dry completely.

Also brought my mini-fridge home from the office because I will use it in the garage more than at work.  The fridge fits nicely between the cabinets for my workbench!  Here is my new layout:

This weekend I should finish the unpacking\organizing and be able to get some REAL work done!

New Cabinet

Went to Salvation Army today and got a new cabinet (from Mayo – Very Solid!).  Also bought a parts organizer from Menards (above cabinet).  Now I need to figure out where to put it and get some muscle to help hang it!

Friday – Vetran’s Day

Need to patch the cement under the garage door to help seal it up for this winter.  Here are some before pictures:

Here is the first pass at building it up (still need to do more):

A couple of pictures of Java:

Need to Rake the lawn today and then get back to Patching the floor.  Next weekend brings a chance of snow showers!!

Garage Heating – 9/24/2011 Update

Remounted the opener.  The board that was holding it cracked, so I used a 2×8 instead:

Last weekend, we got the rafters added along with some supporting boards:

Note in the above picture, there are some boards that needed to be trimmed that extended below the rafter.  Here they are trimmed:

I still need to add rafter boards at the front and back of the front half before I can insulate and drywall.  The front of the garage has some wires for the garage opener which needs to be re-located.

Think I have figured out my garage door closing problem.  Towards the bottom when closing, the door sides from side-to-side and sometimes stops the opener.  Well, my garage opening walls are not straight up and down, but the opener is – see pics:

I also measured the distance between the rails in the middle and bottom and they are off by at least an inch.  So after dry-walling, I can work on the door as time permits.  Might have to get some help with that!  The goal for this next week is to get the ceiling insulated and dry-walled for the front half!
