While waiting for the dash brace to arrive on Monday, did a little shopping and found these paint pour spouts on clearance at Lowes for $0.10 each – so I bought them out and got 40 of them! These keep the paint can clean and re-usable…

Washed, waxed, and used some TurtleWax Chrome restoring polish on the bumpers… Not real pleased, but got familiar with all the nicks & dings… I am thinking I will re-chrome the rear & fangs from front while replacing the front bumper with a repro.

Exchanged my 2 year old Spot Welder for a new one at Harbor Freight… Had to re-wire the plug on the new one:
Also decided to begin cleaning up the bumpers to see if I can use them or need to buy new ones. First task was to remove the bumper sticker…
Used a heat gun and plastic razor blade…
After the heat gun…
Then used Goo Gone to clean up the rest…
Cleaned up fairly good… Next to wash & wax & chrome polish – tomorrow?

Got my Center Console yesterday… Using it to confirm my transmission hump patch is properly placed. Went to install it to the brace on the dash and it looks like the brace is bent. I have located another brace which I purchased off eBay and should be here on Friday. I also ordered a hood & fender from AMD…

Doing final fitment before cutting into car. Measurements were found here… Tomorrow will be working on the engine run stand.

Went to a party today to watch the Daytona 500. It was at the persons house where I am buying the engine from. It is a 454 block de-stroked to a 427 which is better for street racing. In a couple of weeks or so, will be going over to finish the engine build stand (if I haven’t finished by then) so we can start it up before finalizing the deal. But this is the engine that I intend to put in the Camaro – I may dress it up a little more with Chrome parts.:

Got a little more unexpected time in the garage tonight. Got some more pieces cut. I can only take so much standing and cutting in a day!
