Engine Dress-up – Take 2
Worked on the engine and the run-stand. Worked on attaching the throttle control to the run stand. Also put the new air cleaner on.
427 BBC on Engine Start Stand
Started the engine last night. Will be working on the engine and tuning it up some within the next couple of months to get it ready for a Daytona 500 party in February. It started right up after pouring some gas in the carb!

Apr 28, 2014 Update
Received my 11″ Aluminum Bell Housing for the engine run stand. Found on eBay.
Also started painting the Engine Run Stand with some Zero-Rust…
Also ordered a new Cam to put in the engine… Still have some more painting to do, but it is too cold for that now – even with the heated garage as I have to turn off the heater when painting.
Apr 19, 2014 Update
I got the trans hump patch installed today. Used some metal adhesive and sheet metal screws. Saved a lot of time compared to if I had to weld it! So far happy with the results.
Also have some spark plug wires, gauges, and misc parts for the engine run stand…

Still have some metal to cut to size before doing much more with the Engine Run Stand:
To took me a while to settle on the cutoff wheel for cutting the 1/8″ metal to size – it takes a while to cut!
Love my x-mas present – I can listen to my music while tuning all other noise out while working:
