It was warm enough to take the rear end outside to clean this weekend:
After cleaning, I inspected the rear-end and found a couple potential problem areas. I asked about them in this thread on NastyZ28.com and it shouldn’t be a show stopper, so I can continue with the rear-end rebuild.
I also played around with getting TV streamed to my iPad in the garage while I worked this weekend.

After scuffing:
Main goal is to get the shell primed and bottom floor & firewall painted before it gets too cold again. Then work on the suspension.
Worked on the passenger side of under the dash area – Needed to remove the seam sealer before scuffing. Before:
Used my heat gun to ease the removal.
Still have the other side and fine cleaning left to do. After:
Continued working on the inside of the shell. Today was scuffing the inside roof to get it ready for priming this Spring as soon as it is warm enough. Used these pads and something called scuff-it.

After scuffing:Arms are sore today – going to watch some NASCAR!
Bought a 71-72 deluxe steering wheel even though mine is a 73 car… I like the look and it will complement the other deluxe interior parts I have been acquiring. This just arrived today and will eventually have someone restore it to correct some of the flaws.
I also had to buy some deluxe window regulators… I left the image resolution high in case others need to examine them up close… The first in the deluxe window regulator which is longer than the normal one.
The normal one is smaller and wouldn’t have worked with the deluxe door panels I bought.
I bought a deluxe dash bezel out of a 73 which has the larger wiper switch opening and is in very good condition although it still needs some restoration before going in the car. Note the cigarette lighter opening will need a little work as it once got hot and has a larger opening.
No pictures to post right now. I was able to get the 12-bolt completely disassembled – had to rent a axle bearing puller from AutoZone. Next week I will clean it and inspect it to decide if I will rebuild it – things are looking good so far. This weekend I hope to work on the engine to get it ready for the Daytona 500 party on Feb 22nd. Also next week I hope to get back to sanding the shell so I can prime it once it gets warm enough. I also ordered some deluxe door panels and deluxe dash gauge bezel which should arrive tomorrow. I also ordered a set of deluxe window regulators for the deluxe door panels. Will post pictures when they arrive.
