New tool arrived today. A Hi-Lift Bumper Lift (BL-250) that I am going to use with my Harbor Freight Farm Jack. Wasn’t sure it would fit, but it does… I was looking for other ways to lift my shell higher than my regular floor jack. I am sure I will find many other uses for this.

Inside Shell – 4/5/2015
Went to Harbor Freight to buy a set of scrapers in various sizes for getting in some hard-to-reach spots:

The heat gun, wire brushes, and scrapers I am using to remove the seam sealer. Not pictured is the lacquer thinner can that I am using to scrub clean after scraping with these tools:
This is the seam sealer I am removing: Scrape it off and vacuum it up then repeat until it is clean:
These edges take a lot of time and patients:
This is what we are targeting: No seam sealer:

Also the where the package tray was glued down:

Don’t forget the area by the rear seat – before:

After:
I think I am finally ready to scuff the rear section to prep for priming!

Scuffing Inside Shell – 3/8/2015
It was warm enough to take the rear end outside to clean this weekend:
After cleaning, I inspected the rear-end and found a couple potential problem areas. I asked about them in this thread on NastyZ28.com and it shouldn’t be a show stopper, so I can continue with the rear-end rebuild.

I also played around with getting TV streamed to my iPad in the garage while I worked this weekend.
After removing the seam sealer:
Main goal is to get the shell primed and bottom floor & firewall painted before it gets too cold again. Then work on the suspension.

71-72 Deluxe Steering Wheel
Bought a 71-72 deluxe steering wheel even though mine is a 73 car… I like the look and it will complement the other deluxe interior parts I have been acquiring. This just arrived today and will eventually have someone restore it to correct some of the flaws.
