Jul 24, 2014 Update – Priming

Got my plastic hung up around the trunk lid after moving the Camaro forward (on Rotisserie)… This is before the surrounding piece to enclose it…

Trunk lid hung from ceiling so I can prime both sides at the same time.

During final check, had to figure out the new regulator since there was no air going through the new hose… Finally got that figured out…

Then there were leaks through the hose reel air hose connectors… Off to Northern Tool for some replacements… Then broke a piece on the hose reel and then off to Harbor Freight for replacement…

Not enough time to start spraying, but everything is all ready to give it a go tomorrow… Glad I didn’t wait to the last minute to start on this!

Added some new lighting in the garage…

Also about done on the air compressor piping… Needed to do this for priming the car. Water filter needs to be 25′ minimum from air compressor. Added some shut-off valves to help drain water and control air flow.

Jun 25, 2014 Update

Been busy building a couple of workbenches in the back of the garage where I will be priming & painting. 3′ deep x 14″ wide… Also bought some light fixtures off of CraigsList I will be installing soon. Also will be adding piping to the air compressor. I also moved the blog from one hosting provider to another, so let me know if problems!

Jun 15, 2014 Update – Priming

I had my trunk lid all ready to prime, but realized that having it right next to the air compressor might not be the wisest thing to do.  After much reflection and discussion on the forums, I will be re-organizing the back of the garage behind the Camaro so I can do my priming there.  That will give me 25+ feet of distance between me and the air compressor.  Might even put a smaller fan in front of the air compressor to help keep the fumes away.  This is where I would have been painting…

Jun 9, 2014 Update

$43 later and I can open & close my hood on the S-10 again – had to replace the hood latch. Been trying to get the hood open and then I went to try it again and it opened. I left it open and located a replacement latch at AutoZone so I got my neighbor to pick it up for me. So back to the trunk lid tomorrow!
